In the early hours of the morning at the Gap of Dunloe, a glacial mountain pass forged between the MacGillycuddy Reeks and Purple Mountain. A thick mist had settled into the pass and my hiking partner and I found ourselves the sole witnesses to a glorious collision of sun and fog.
In an effort to ground myself in the physical reality of the landscapes I witnessed and bring a tangibility to the images, I made the conscious decision to photograph my entire trip to Ireland on film.
